6. Entry fee to be deposited to Makiling Campus Runners at any Landbank branch savings’ account #1891-0596-00. The payment for registration should be made within three days, otherwise the entry shall be forfeited. Submit a copy of the deposit slip through e-mail.

7. Online registration will close on September 10, 2009 at 12 noon.

The Makiling Campus Runners once again presents Makiling Challenge, now on its eighth year. Runners and running enthusiasts can relive the experience of the breathtaking slopes of Mount Makiling. First-timer? Well, it’s about time to get on the road and take the challenge.

Makiling Challenge, a competitive twelve-kilometer and five-kilometer race, aims to promote running as the most affordable and effective avenue for physical fitness and total well-being. This event further aims to create a nature-oriented venue for physical activities as such.

The Makiling Campus Runners has been bringing runners closer to nature by letting them conquer the mountain. This year, the slope wouldn’t be easy to trek as runners face a rougher and tougher road.

Registration begins in July. Catch us at selected races in Manila as we put up our registration booths. You can also visit us at Baker Hall in UPLB or register through email (makiling_campus_runners@yahoo.com). A non-refundable registration fee of 180.00 Php for both five-kilometer and ten-kilometer runs may be deposited at any Landbank branch under the Makiling Campus Runners savings account number 1891-0596-00. You may also register for only 330 Php at least a week prior to the event if you wish to be provided with lodging the night before the race. We also have 100 slots available for those who wish to avail our limited edition of MAC shorts. Late registration is on the race day and participants will have to register for 200 Php. Late registrants are not entitled to any awards that will be distributed during the race.

Singlets and race numbers, which are required to be worn by the participants on race day, will be distributed upon registration. Singlet sizes depend on availability. Top finishers will receive medals and cash prizes. All finishers will be receiving snacks and giveaways. Special awards will also be given.

Race starts at 6:00 am at the Baker Hall, U.P. Los Baños, Laguna on September 13, 2009.
