Going to UP Los Baños
by pau.supangco on Aug.04, 2011, under Makiling Challenge X
Driving from Metro Manila
- Drive southbound along the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX).
- Exit to the Turbina Exchange 1. This exit way is the end of SLEX and is the second exit after the Calamba Toll Plaza.
- Drive straight to Calamba City and then turn right at the Calamba Crossing traffic lights. You should have passed by WalterMart Mall at your right about 300 meters before Calamba Crossing. You will know you are at Calamba Crossing when you see the Mercury Drug and Jollibee buildings at your left and SM Calamba on your right.
- Drive along the 4-lane highway and enjoy the scenery. You should be passing by Baranggay Pansol where most Hot Spring Resorts are located.
- When you already smell the scent of freshly baked Buko Pie while the road narrows into a two-lane traffic, you are nearing Los Baños.
- Drive to Los Baños Junction and then turn right to Lopez Avenue. You will know you are at Los Baños Junction if you see the Mercury Drug building at your right and the Jollibee building opposite it along Lopez Avenue.
Commuting from Metro Manila
- Take any Public Utility Bus travelling to Sta. Cruz, Laguna. (HM terminal in Cubao, passing through EDSA, GreenStar and DLTB from LRT Buendia. There are also buses from Alabang and Calamba)
- Tell the conductor that you will get off at College.
- At College, get off at the Caltex Gas Station and take the Jeepney with UP College sign board. Pay the minimum fare.
- You may ask the jeepney driver to drop you off at your specific UPLB campus destination (or near it).
