Rules and Regulations
• The Makiling Challenge, a 12 km competitive road race and 5 km fun run, is open to all runners, men and women.
• All participants are required to sign the waiver of liability. In addition, participants who are below 18 years old must also have their waiver signed by their parent or guardian.
Registration
1. A non-refundable fee of Php 180.00 must accompany each entry.
2. Late registration fee is Php 200.00.
3. Participants who wish to be provided with lodging the night before the race shall add a non-refundable lodging fee of Php 150.00 at least a week before the race.
4. Registrants may claim their race packets upon registration.
5. Registration forms may be sent through e-mail: makiling_campus_runners@yahoo.com
6. Entry fee to be deposited to Makiling Campus Runners at any Landbank branch savings’ account #1891-0596-00. The payment for registration should be made within three days, otherwise the entry shall be forfeited. Submit a copy of the deposit slip through e-mail.
7. Online registration will close on September 10, 2009 at 12 noon.
8. Race packets for registrants through e-mail can be claimed at the following locations:
a. Baker Hall at UP Los Baños
b. MAC8 registration booths at races in Manila
c. UP Diliman through Catherine Lit (see contact information)
9. The last day of regular registration is on September 12, 2009 at 9 pm.
10. Should a participant wish to change the distance that he/she will be running, he/she shall register again for another race number. Given that the participant registers for another race number on the day of the race, he/she is considered a late registrant.
11. Late registrants are not entitled to any award that shall be distributed after the race.
Race Day
1. Race marshalls are available for route assistance during the race.
2. Water stations will be situated at strategic points along the route.
3. An ambulance will be stationed at the race venue in case of emergency.
4. The race organizers shall not be held responsible for any unfortunate events beyond reasonable control.
5. The race organizers reserve the right to disqualify or withdraw any participants prior to or during the race.
6. The race organizers have the right to alter the rules and regulations whenever necessary without prior notice to the race participants to ensure the success of the race.
7. Medals, cash prizes, and special awards shall be given right after the end of the race.
8. All protests related to results must be in written form and submitted to the race organizers within one (1) hour after finishing the race. Verbal protests shall not be honored. The participant shall pay a protest fee of Php 1,000.00, with sufficient evidences and witnesses – at least one route marshal and another individual .
